Endesa is constructing its maiden solar plant in Spain’s Soria; Ameresco & Sunel Group to build 100 MW in Greece for Cero; Sonnedix has acquired 117.8 MW portfolio in Italy; ALH Group picking up 49.9% stake in EnBW’s 597 MW solar capacity.

Endesa constructing 38 MW plant in Spain: Endesa has started constructing its maiden solar power project in Spanish Municipality of Soria with 38.24 MW capacity. It is executing the project in Soria’s Matalebreras through its renewable energy subsidiary Enel Green Power Espana (EGPE). On completion, the facility will generate 72.24 GWh annually which Endesa says is the consumption of the entire Soria for 3 months. To be built for €28 million, the Eugenia Solar Project will generate over 250 jobs during its construction and 7 permanent jobs for operation and maintenance during 30 years of its operations.

Cero picks contractors for 100 MW Greek project: European solar energy developer Cero Generation has selected Ameresco Energy Hellas and EPC company Sunel Group to build its 100 MW solar PV project in Greece’s Prosotsani Drama. The Delfini Solar Power Project has a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Axpo, making it one of the 1st solar projects in the country to be developed without government subsidies. Construction will commence in August 2022 and commercial operations are scheduled for Autumn 2023.

Sonnedix acquires 117.8 MW portfolio in Italy: Graziella Holding and other minority sellers have sold their stake in a total of 117.8 MW portfolio of solar power projects in Italy to Sonnedix. The 2 projects are 69.5 MW Sonnedix Cagliari and 48.3 MW Sonnedix Nuoro, in Sardinia. Both the projects are in the ready-to-build (RTB) stage and scheduled to start operations by H2/2023 and H1/2024, respectively. The facilities will benefit from a feed-in-tariff (FIT) from Gestore dei Servizi Energetici. Sonnedix has a total capacity of over 1.6 GW solar in Italy, out of which 293 MW is operational and more than 1.3 GW in development pipeline.

ALH interested in EnBW’s solar portfolio: German insurance company ALH Group is indirectly acquiring 49.9% stake in a portfolio of 16 solar farms with 597 MW capacity from EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG. Around 80% of this capacity includes new large-scale subsidy free solar plants in Weesow, Gottesgabe and Alttrebbin. The 16 solar plants are located in the states of Brandenburg, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony with most of these online. EnBW will continue to be in charge of their maintenance.
