Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce its second clamshell foldable if news from GSMArena are solid. A new rumor from China details the launch timeline and battery capacity. As per the leak, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will sport a 5,100 mAh battery. It’s a significant increase over the 4,780 mAh seen in the first Xiaomi Mix Flip.
Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Coming With Larger Battery
Previous rumors were pointing to a 5,600 mAh to 5,700 mAh battery capacity on the new smartphone. We all know that advancements made in silicon-carbon technology. It is slowly transforming the smartphone market since it can fit more capacity without making the battery bulky. However, it seems that Xiaomi was only able to fit 5,100 mAh battery at this time.
According to the leak, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will launch in the second quarter of 2025. So we can expect the smartphone launch between April and June. The previous rumors talked about it arriving in the first half of the year. Now, the new leak gives more context of when to expect the device.

It is also rumored to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, so it would be the first flip foldable smartphone to sport Qualcomm’s latest flagship CPU.

The rumors also say it will be thinner than the original Mix Flip, which is remarkable considering the larger battery. Also, it would change the telephoto camera of its predecessor for a 50 MP ultrawide, sticking with a simple dual camera setup without advanced zoom capabilities.
We expect more details to surface as there are still some months before the launch. Xiaomi’s priority at the moment seems to be the release of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra that arrives later this month.
