Japannese en Australiese maatskappye vir hernubare energie het Kennedy Energy Park baie vertraag

  • Eurus Energy and Windlab have announced the commissioning of the Kennedy Energy Park
  • It comprises 43.2 MW wind, 15 MW solar and a 2 MW/4 MWh BESS component as a single facility
  • Its construction started in December 2017 under a joint venture of the 2 companies

Japanese renewable energy group Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation and Australian wind energy specialist Windlab have finally commissioned what they call is Australia’s 1st and Eurus’ 1st large-scale hybrid renewable energy facility, more than 6 years after it entered construction.

Located near Hughenden in northwest Queensland, the project comprises 43.2 MW wind, 15 MW solar and a 2 MW/4 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) within a single facility.

The hybrid plant will provide renewable energy through the day and night. Its hybrid nature with storage component helps reduce the weather-induced fluctuation in production as compared to individual solar and wind power plants.

The project entered construction in December 2017, more than 2 years after the 2 companies announced the project in October 2015. The Kennedy Energy Park is jointly owned by both the partners.

It is contracted to supply the power generated to Queensland government-owned power company CS Energy.
