Huawei is known for pushing boundaries with its smartphone designs, and it looks like the upcoming Huawei Pocket 3 will continue this trend. According to a new leak from China, the Pocket 3 will feature a 3:2 aspect ratio when unfolded—an unusual choice for a foldable phone.
A Compact iPad Mini-Like Display
The 3:2 aspect ratio is the same one used by Apple’s iPad mini, which has an 8.3-inch display. However, the Huawei Pocket 3’s internal screen will be 6.3 inches, making it look like a smaller version of the iPad mini when unfolded.
For comparison, most foldable flip phones, including Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series, have taller, narrower screens. Huawei’s approach could offer a more balanced and natural display, ideal for reading, browsing, and productivity tasks.
A Redesigned Cover Screen?
The Pocket 3’s cover screen is rumored to be 3.5 inches, but its aspect ratio remains unknown. Huawei’s previous Pocket 2 had a circular outer display, so it will be interesting to see whether Huawei sticks with this unique design or introduces something entirely new.
