State owned airports operator in Spain, Aena has selected Constructora San José as the EPC contractor to set up and commission a 142.42 MW DC/120 MW AC 태양 광 발전소 for Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. This capacity will be in addition to a 7.5 MW self-consumption 태양 광 프로젝트 that’s scheduled for commissioning in 2023.

Constructora San José will equip the 142.42 MW DC solar plant with more than 235,000 modules, bring it online within 50 months and also provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services. On completion, it will generate 212 GWh annually. The project will be built for an investment of €99.11 million.

Aena said the solar power project is one of the most powerful renewable energy production facilities in the airport sector globally. It is part of Aena Photovoltaic Plan under which the operator aims for 100% of electricity for all its airports to come from 재생 에너지 by 2026 to generate around 950 GWh annually with an investment worth $350 million.

The 142.42 MW DC project will account for 24.8% of the total aimed under the plan.
