In February, ZTE introduced its first flip-foldable phone, the ZTE Libero Flip. Later, it launched globally as the Nubia Flip. Now, the smartphone maker is preparing a new foldable contender for this market. As you may expect, the device will come as Nubia Flip 2 (NX732J). It has emerged in a certification listing on China’s TENAA agency.
Nubia Flip 2 Specifications Spotted on TENAA
The Nubia Flip 2 will feature a fresh design, including a much larger 3-inch AMOLED cover screen. The device will come with a resolution of 422×682 pixels. Unlike its predecessor’s round display, the new cover screen is rectangular. It will feature a dual-camera setup. We have a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary sensor. Below them, we can see a round LED flash module.
The Nubia Flip 2 features a 6.85-inch AMOLED main display with a resolution of 1,188×2,970 pixels. The display and resolution match its predecessor. The smartphone also has a 32MP selfie camera that sits on a punch-hole cutout on the screen. When unfolded, the Flip 2 measures 169.4×76×7.2 mm. It has the same measurements as the first-generation model. However, it is lighter at 193 grams. The original Nubia Flip came with 214 grams.
While the chipset remains unspecified, the Flip 2 will offer RAM options of 6GB, 8GB, or 12 GB. The first model had a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. This is a mid-range foldable smartphone, we expect the Flip 2 to remain in the field. However, we do expect an upgrade in the chipset. After all, the other aspects of the phone are too similar to its predecessor.
Another aspect that is worth our attention is the battery capacity. it is listed on TENAA with a 4,220 mAh capacity. That would be a downgrade compared to the Flip 1 which had a 4,310 mAh. Hopefully, that won’t be the case.
We expect more details to appear soon. We expect the phone to be released first in China, followed by a global release later on.
