Less than truckload (LTL) is a freight option for shipments which are not large enough to occupy an entire truck’s capacity. As a result, LTL shipments would rather be compressed with other small shipments with the goal of full truckload. While LTL shipments are cheaper, they are carried across multiple freight carrier hubs collecting and dropping off shipments along the entire route, which would translate to longer transit times.
