Na Uwezo Uliowekwa wa MW 9.9, Mradi wa Nishati ya Jua wa DeLasol Unakuwa Kiwanda 'Kikubwa' cha Uendeshaji cha PV cha Serbia.

  • Serbia has announced the launch of its largest solar power plant with 9.9 MW installed capacity
  • Spread on 12.5 hectares land, it uses bifacial solar panels to generate 15,000 MWh annually
  • Built by MT-KOMEX, the project was financed with credit from ProCredit Bank Serbia

Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Dubravka Đedović has officially inaugurated a 9.9 MW solar power plant calling it the country’s largest solar PV project with capacity to generate 15,000 MWh annually, enough to supply 2,100 households.

DeLasol Solar Project in Lapovo region covers a space of 12.5 hectares and is equipped with more than 17,000 bifacial solar panels. The €8.9 million project was financed by ProCredit Bank’s local subsidiary. It was built by local engineering company MT-KOMEX.

“DeLasol solar power plant is the largest solar power plant in Serbia and an example of how by using solar energy we can simultaneously improve the security of electricity supply and environmental protection,” said Đedović.

Serbia is amending its renewable energy law to implement competitive auctions to build new capacities thereby encouraging role of private sector in the energy industry that’s currently dominated by coal.
