Upcoming Approval for REACH Registration Testing Proposals for 12 Substances

In accordance with REACH regulations, before conducting tests under Annex IX and X (for registration volumes of 100-1000 tons per year and over 1000 tons per year), registrants must submit a testing proposal (TP). After a consultation period, ECHA will finalize the testing requirements based on feedback and the characteristics of the substance.

On May 14, 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced 12 new substance testing proposals and invited the public to submit their comments by following dates.

ECHA’s public consultation on substance testing proposals is a transparent process to determine if additional testing is needed for chemical registration dossiers to ensure safety. This process gathers input from various stakeholders to improve chemical safety assessments. After the consultation period, ECHA will adjust the testing requirements based on the feedback. Registrants must then conduct the specified tests, submit the results, and update their safety documentation to ensure safe use and promote industry sustainability.
